Tring Brewery

Beers from Tring Brewery are so prevalent around Hertfordshire. It’s no surprise when you walk into an excellent pub to see Side Pocket For a Toad, Piggeries or Liberator on draught. With the exception of one or two, all of their beer names are influenced by local literature, folkore, events, persons of note, places and even wildlife.

The brewery was founded in 1992 by Richard Shardlow who was joined in 2000 by Andrew Jackson – both have stellar backgrounds in the industry. Both are still there to this day running a great team who mostly live locally.

They use English barley, local water but specific hops from all over the world for their different beers. The leftover grain from the brewery are used to feed the cattle, and the beer appears in the excellent pies available at Dunsley Farm Shop next door.

Pop in Monday-Saturday to grab some bottles, growlers or even 72 pint firkins. There’s also plenty of chocolate, chutney, spirits, biltong and cider from local producers. Or book in on a brewery tour on Thursdays or Saturdays!

Plus with charity beers and local events, this is a company that really cares about its community. Watch out for their new taproom facility too!
