Rowley’s at The Prince of Wales
Rowley’s at The Prince of Wales Village Pub & Restaurant elevates local, seasonal ingredients to star status on its satisfying, down-to-earth menus, and when your dish arrives you’ll be impressed by the flavour combinations and skilful cooking. If you’re anything like us, you’ll also enjoy the laid-back yet polished feel at this rural eatery, which celebrated its 10-year anniversary in 2016.
On our visit we were bowled over by the roast topside of naturally-reared Derbyshire beef and coconut-crusted fillet of cod, and also impressed by the local ales.
Set in pretty Baslow in the Derbyshire Peak District, a short drive from Chatsworth House, Rowley’s is the sister restaurant of Michelin-starred Fischer’s at Baslow Hall. Benefitting from this close link, especially through the expertise of Fischer’s head chef Rupert Rowley, Rowley’s (which is co-owned by Rupert) is highly recommended.
