We might not have the climate or the vibrant colours of Argentina but, in Leicester, you can take a trip in the lively city of Buenos Aires by way of Sonrisa Comida Argentina.
Inspired by the neighbourhoods of Palermo Soho and San Telmo, this cafe-bar offers a break from the grey days with fantastic flavours and a Latin American soul. There’s always music playing that will make you want to get up and dance.
You could pop in for a strong cup of coffee during the day or visit in the evening and kick off with cocktails – in honour of the national flower of Argentina, you’ll love the ‘Galli’ with rum, lychee liqueur, cranberry, watermelon and lime. Or how about a bottle of Quilmes? A deliciously drinkable lager from Argentina.
When it comes to food, there’s choice for everyone and dishes include Iberian Lamb Loin, Marucha Flat Iron steak, Spiced Prawn Spaghetti and lots of vegetarian dishes. The desserts, including Muscovado Pudding (like sticky toffee pudding but with more spice) and Cereal Panna Cotta will tempt you to linger a little longer, too.
